What a strange combination, you could say!
It is a trendy food movement in Barcelona, you can enjoy: Brazilian-Japanese, Peruvian-Japanese…
The Ikibana Restaurant (you will find 2 restaurants: one in el Born and one in Paralelo) is design, trendy and offers quality food. I was really exited to try this odd combination and it worked very well although the fusion is not as obvious as expected.
The tasting menu offers a nice overview of the different sushi and maki specialties but we still have to mention that it is quite expensive for Barcelona (35 euros).
The fusion was more developed in the desert and the cocktails but unfortunately they were the weakest elements of the diner (to my opinion). Be careful with the caïpirhina, the cachaça used is giving massive headache even with moderated consumption!
If you want an original and trendy place to dine, this is a good place. But I would not recommend it for fine dining experience or for small budget (Count 40 euros per head with wine and cocktails)
